BDSM
Several LUSTBOUND readers have commented, either to me or in reviews, that the concept of the story sounds a little BDSM. The idea of women owning Pets in specific. I see exactly where they're coming from, because if you look at my notes for the story when I was first outlining it, there were more BDSM elements (though it was never going to get too too kinky).
But things change during the creative process. The romance took a front seat in what I originally thought was going to be the start of a story about sexual exploration. Christine's view of the society in the first book is narrow and limited, and so is her view of sex because of her oppressed upbringing. We see a little bit more through Valentin's point of view, but not much because his focus is so much on both Christine and his own unhappiness.
My romantic side took over as I was writing. I loved the idea of people falling in love in a society like this where so many things are against them. True love overcoming all, reaching for a Happily Ever After, happy things.
I like the twist that came about. You can certainly imagine that BDSM, and other sexual fantasies go on in Eve's Grotto. I certainly do. People may have an idea of a BDSM society going into the story, and that's fine. Because it makes the love story more unlikely and therefore even more dangerous and worth fighting for.

So much for June 30...
I had LUSTBOUND all ready to go last week. I sent it off to the person doing my formatting, and it was uploaded to KDP and waiting for review on the 29th.
It's still waiting.
Oh well, this part of the process is out of my control, and all I can do is hope Amazon finishes reviewing it soon. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow morning. I'm ready for it to be available, and to finally share some of my writing with readers.

LUSTBOUND: fantasy erotic romance
I'm publishing my first erotic romance novella (30,000 words, approx) called LUSTBOUND on Amazon at the end of this month! June 30 is the goal, as long as everything gets approved and is formatted correctly.

Christine has grown up on a desolate compound, where women are the property of men, and marriage is for practicality, not love. But her life changes when she’s given the opportunity to escape to a much different place: Eve’s Grotto. It’s a city where women are in charge and men are kept as Pets—there to pleasure and care for the women in whatever way is required…or desired.
Christine is uncomfortable and timid about her new life until she meets Valentin, a beautiful and mysterious Pet who stirs things in her she’s never felt before, and who seems as enchanted with her as she is with him. He can show her things about pleasure she didn’t know were possible, and she awakens feelings in him he didn’t know he had.
But Eve’s Grotto has strict rules about Pet interaction. A Pet may not make sexual advances on a woman. A woman may not have sex with a Pet that does not belong to her. Above all else, a woman and a Pet must not fall in love.
But rules are made to be broken.
